When importing roofing materials from China, certifications are your strongest assurance of quality. But with so many acronyms —CE, ISO 9001, SGS, Soncap —it's easy to get confused. Here's what each one actually means and why they matter for your project.

CE Marking: Your Passport to Europe

CE (Conformit茅 Europ茅enne) is mandatory for construction products sold in the European Economic Area. For stone coated metal roof tiles, CE certification under EN 14782 confirms the product meets EU standards for mechanical resistance, fire performance (EN 13501-5), and durability. Without CE marking, your shipment won't clear EU customs. Every Fuda product ships with a Declaration of Performance (DoP) document —ask for it.

ISO 9001: Quality Management You Can Trust

ISO 9001:2015 isn't a product certificate —it certifies the manufacturing process. A factory with ISO 9001 has documented quality control at every stage: incoming raw material inspection, in-process checks, final product testing, and continuous improvement systems. SGS: Independent Third-Party Testing

SGS is the world's leading inspection and testing company. An SGS test report means an independent lab —not the factory —has verified the product's specifications. Soncap (Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme) is required for regulated products entering Nigeria. Without a valid Soncap certificate, your goods will be rejected at Nigerian ports. The process involves product testing, factory audit, and registration. How to Verify Certifications (Don't Get Fooled)

Unfortunately, fake certificates exist. Here's how to protect yourself:

• CE: Verify the DoP number and notified body (4-digit number) on the EU Nando database.
• ISO 9001: Check the certification body's accreditation at iaf.nu. A real ISO cert has a valid accreditation mark (e.g., UKAS, ANAB, CNAS).
• SGS: SGS reports have a unique report number. Call your local SGS office to verify it.
• Soncap: Verify on the SON official portal using the certificate number.
